ABOUT MEETING OF THE LOST MINDS [MLM]

We're a primarily North American guild in a relatively mature alliance.  Ages in our guild run from 18 on up, with the average probably in late 20's to early 30's.  Our goals aren't necessarily to have mini Greased Lightnings or obsidian armor on all characters, but mainly to make friends and have a blast in the process.  We're a social bunch, and while we don't consider ourselves elitist we do expect a certain level of competency.  We have an experienced, but very loose play style.

======> Tidbits about MLM:

  • We've been seen streaking through LA & Kamadan to cap off some of our guild parties.
  • MLM annually sponsors at least one district for each feast during the Canthan New Year festival.
  • Most of us suck at PvP, and are damn proud of it.
  • "Elite" missions are run from time to time. We do not focus on any one particular area of the PvE game but generally enjoy everything "HM".
  • We have a Paragon "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals". Yes, a Paragon. Go figure.
  • We use our forums extensively to schedule PvE outings, parties, and contests.
  • The guild leader has been known to get drunk on Ventrillo from time to time. Go Banana!

    Where's Hot Paul?

It's a scavenger hunt turned on its ear! Find the infamous Hot Paul and bring him the items he requests - assuming you can decipher what he's asking for!

    Football Pools for Football Dummies

For the NFL playoffs and Superbowl we ran some easy-to-understand pools geared towards those who don't know a damn thing about football!

    Win Sini's Ecto

100 Ectos are up for grabs! Guildmembers compete against Sini to earn numbers, and at the event's grand finale a /roll will determine the winner. The catch? Sini's playing too. He won't let his ecto go without a fight!

    Halloween Hulabaloo

This was a largely forum-based contest which required a bit of creativity from guild and alliance members. In part 1, players were asked to find screenshots to match some creepy quotes from Edgar Allan Poe. In part 2, we went on a wild scaveneger hunt to find ingredients to build scary monsters. And of course, the overall winners got a fair share of loot!

    MLM Wintersday in July

Throughout the entire month, on designated outings we had special giveaways and "random holiday drops" throughout the month of July. On the last day of the month, we celebrated in the Guild Hall with a Secret Casino Santa where not only were gifts exchanged but an Everlasting Abominable Tonic as well!

    Vent Parties

Not-so-sober Saturday and F'd-Up-Friday are alsoways fun for those listening - or participating - on Ventrilo! It's pretty simple. A group of friends get on vent, pop open their favorite adult beverage, and play Guild Wars. Sometimes we even have drinking games. It's just good harmless fun, and doesn't happen too often.. but when it does, it's good entertainment for all online!

    Party
    Time!

Featuring MLM Trivia, a hodge-podge of Guild Wars related trivia and a variety of prizes. Questions were asked both on our forums beginning two weeks prior to the party, then three more rounds at the event itself. At this particular party, prizes included Zaishen Keys and Trick-or-Treat bags.
EEEVIL Screenshot Contest Players searched for (and guessed at!) the locations of four weeks of obscure screen shots. The top 5 winners scored some serious loot, with the top prize being an Armbrace of Truth!

    The
    Ecto Roll

The game is simple, the winnings are huge! Mainly using our forums, each week players pitched in an ecto to pick a number. If no one wins any given week, the pot rolls into the next week where people may pick an additional number (for an additional ecto!).

    Just
    DEAL!

This game lasted over a month and culminated with a gathering in our guild hall which closely resembled a cross between "Let's Make A Deal" and "Deal or No Deal". At scheduled PvE outings, players were given the opportunity to win a "Just Deal" briefcase. As more cases were given away, hints were given as to their contents. Players traded, bought, and sold cases right up until the final night. Prizes included everlasting tonics, gold and green mini pets, an Armbrace of Truth, Zaishen Keys, and much more totalling well over 1 million gold!
