MLM RULES & EXPECTATIONS
1. GENERAL
A. General Behavior
1. Be respectful of others. Do not belittle or otherwise
be rude to other guild/alliance members without good reason.
Respect others' opinions, even if you disagree.
2. It is considered unacceptable to 'charge' guild/alliance
members for assistance in the game. Your interest in
helping alliance members should be genuine, not
motivated by profiting off them.
3. Participate in your guild. Teaming, parties,
contests, forum, and alliance chat are all examples. We
understand not everyone may be social butterflies, but
we do expect guilds as a whole to mingle with each other
on a regular basis.
B. Age & Maturity
This is a predominantly adult alliance. We particularly ask those who
participate in alliance activities handle themselves in
a mature manner.
C. Guild/Alliance Chat
1. No WTS/WTB (within reason). You might just need the
odd monk tome, or perhaps want to offer a vampbrace at a
highly discounted price. That's fine. Just keep in mind
guild/alliance chat is not your own personal trading bazaar.
If you want to buy or sell regularly to alliance
members, use the Trading Post section on the MLM forums.
2. No begging for gold, items, or help. Also, asking for
assistance is one thing.. but if people are clearly
unavailable then asking multiple times won't help.
3. While we're all adults who once in a while may enjoy
some blue humor, please try to limit the more offensive
statements and jokes in guild/alliance chat.
4. Don't expect replies from everyone. Not everyone is
going to reply, and you wouldn't want them to anyway.
Nobody would want to see a thousand "no"s spamming
through chat.
5. Don't ask questions that you can wiki. If you can't
find it on wiki and have looked, ask in guild chat. Same
goes for other things you can easily figure out
yourself.
6. No racism or bigotry. This includes "gay" - we don't
want to see the word, and we don't want to see anything
relating to intolerance. This is a game, people aren't
here to have their real world beliefs or identity
stepped on.
7. Don't ping your build in guild/alliance chat and say you
are so leet. For all you know everyone else has probably
been doing what you're doing now for a year. Don't try
to brag. You know you're just going to get offended when
your thing you think is the next best thing since bread
gets ripped down and everyone tells you that it sucks,
then starts pinging their builds, then a mass argument
breaks out. Build discussions are fine; the
aforementioned is not.
D. Ventrillo
The alliance uses Ventrillo as a social gathering place as well
as an in game tool. While each guild may have their own
set of rules and etiquette, please use common sense
when addressing others. Our alliance is made up of a
diverse cross section of players - please consider what
you say carefully. As with alliance chat, just because
you can say something, does not always mean you
*should*.
